What is a newspaper holiday?
The Japan Newspaper Publishers' Association has designated a day off for newspaper production and for newspaper dealers to take a day off from newspaper publication for the purpose of relaxation and vacation.

The evening edition will be closed on Sundays, national holidays, substitute holidays, and during the year-end and New Year holidays.
The year-end and New Year holidays will be announced in the Notice to Subscribers in December each year.
