[For Subscribers/Important] Asahi Shimbun Request for revision of subscription fee

Thank you for your continued patronage.

On May 1st, the monthly subscription fee for the Asahi Shimbun will be revised from 4,400 yen to 4,900 yen for the morning and evening editions, and to 4,700 yen for the morning edition only (including consumption tax). Details will be announced in the Asahi Shimbun on April 5th.

Newsprint and other raw materials are soaring, and the cost of delivering to our readers is also increasing. We are continuing to reduce costs, but we have no choice but to ask for a burden in order to maintain the quality of reporting and to ensure the stable publication of newspapers.

One copy of the morning edition is 180 yen (currently 160 yen), and the evening edition is 70 yen (currently 60 yen).
